Latin Music on TV and Web

Wednesday, Oct. 21st in DFW at 9pm on Channel 13 is Fiesta Latina performance at the White House.  The program celebrates Hispanic musical heritage and includes performances by Marc Anthony, Jimmy Smits, Eva Longoria Parker, Pete Escovedo, Gloria Estefan, José Feliciano, George Lopez, Thalía, Tito “El Bambino”, the Bachata music group Aventura, and the Chicano rock band Los Lobos, with Sheila E. as the musical director.  You can also watch it online here:

Musicarte Festival de Fort Worth October 9-10

Salsa is hot, but headliners at Musicarte de Fort Worth Oct. 9 – 10 in Sundance Square will set patrons dancing to the beats of Latin jazz and rock as well, bringing a wide range of Latin music to downtown Fort Worth. Pearce high school; this isn’t the ultimate list of all the best drumlines in the world, country, or even the state, but it shows what the level of performance is like in Texas where the best lines are. This is only a very small sample of these lines.

Clinic Feature: Texas 2009-10 All State Audition Etudes

Each year, thousands of percussionists throughout Texas audition for placement in the All Region, Area and State Ensembles. Because of the worth of musical development that these selections have for high school percussionists, we’ve decided to create a special clinic covering the 4 etudes.

Even if you’re not from Texas, we hope that you’ll benefit from the musical experience by practicing these selections.
