This is the NEIL PEART ‘JUST DRUMS’ Version of “THE HOCKEY THEME” with NO Hockey Players EDITED IN!!

Check out RUSH Drummer NEIL PEART Recording a New Rock Version of The Hockey Theme for TSN’s “HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA”. Peart recorded his percussion-focused rendition of ”Canada’s second national anthem” at the iconic Ocean Way Studios in Hollywood,CA.

The new rendition of The Hockey Theme features Peart accompanied by 17 musicians. The Stanley Cup was on hand to both inspire the musicians and to help symbolize The Hockey Theme’s significance to the game.

To further aid in instilling the hockey state of mind in his fellow musicians, Peart used a custom drum kit created by DW Drums that featured the logos of all 30 NHL teams. Neil said he really wanted it to represent the game of hockey, incorporating center ice and the face-off circles. The kit will be ‘inducted’ into the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, Canada.

This is brand new and looks and sounds very cool.

e-Pro Live is a revolutionary electronic drumset that looks, feels and sounds like real drums. Never before has today’s drummer been offered the limitless sonic capability and realistic feel of electronic drums on a drumset built with real drum shells, real brass cymbals, and real drumset hardware

You might have noticed the extra coverage of marching bands during the parades and bowl games on tv.  Fox does a pretty good job of showing the bands on their bowl games and tonight is no exception.  Check out the TCU Band tonight before and during the Fiesta Bowl on Channel 4 starting at 6:30 CT.  Brian Youngblood, TCU Marching Band director, tells me they plan on showing the halftime show, so check it out.  They are one of the better and more entertaining college bands around.
